VNU-UL Student Research Conference 2023-2024

On May 6, 2024, the VNU University of Law held its annual Student Research Conference for the academic year 2023-2024. The conference aims to enhance students' knowledge and research skills. The event was honoured by the presence of esteemed council members: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet – Chairman of the Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh - Member, Dr. Do Giang Nam - Member, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Minh Tuan - Member, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Son - Member, Dr. Tran Anh Tu - Member, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Quoc Toan, and Dr. Mai Van Thang – Member, Secretary.

 

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tien Viet (Vice Rector) emphasized that the Student Research Conference is an important annual event. It significantly promotes the learning movement and enhances students' self-research capabilities. Moreover, the conference serves as a bridge between students and faculty members, thereby improving the quality of education and student performance. The Vice Rector also conveyed his best wishes to the student groups, hoping they would perform exceptionally well in their presentations.

 

 

During the conference, 12 research papers were presented to the council. The council evaluated and reviewed the students' papers to identify the highest quality research works for awards. Key criteria for the research included scientific research methodology, scientific content, practical significance (economic, social, educational effectiveness), and presentation skills. Following these guidelines, students presenting at the conference received valuable feedback and insights from the council members on various issues related to their research papers.

 

After a rigorous evaluation process, the conference awarded two first prizes. The winning groups were Nguyen Quang Ha, Phan Duc Trung, and Nguyen Khanh Huyen with the topic "International Investment Disputes in Energy Transition and Possible Strategies of Prevention and Mitigation for Vietnam," and Pham Thu Minh with the topic "Using copyrighted materials to train generative AI and the fair use doctrine: The United States of America and recommendations for Vietnam." Additionally, three second prizes, three third prizes, and four consolation prizes were awarded.

The University will continue to select outstanding student reports to participate in other scientific research activities after this conference.
